The Pirate wrestling team would finish the day in first place. In the final dual, we were down 10 points with 2 matches remaining. Freshman Jordan Thies earned a pin, and Kole Thomas followed with a Tech fall victory to give the Pirates the win by 1. Everyone wrestled well today, with lots of opportunities for improvement. The Pirates will be back in action Wednesday at home. Wrestling will start at 5pm.

Pirate Nation! Congratulations to Kelsey Copenhaver, whose DAR essay recently won a $500 scholarship in a local-level competition among area students. The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizens Scholarship essay prompt asks students to explain how the qualities of a good citizen—dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism—support the nation. Kelsey was selected by her Social Studies teacher, Mr. Elliott Ambrose, as our school's DAR Good Citizen and was then invited to participate in the essay portion of the program.
