Staff Spotlight: Mr. Jensen

Hart Middle School has wonderful teachers who have been around for many years and are a great influence on the students. Mr. Eric Jensen has been teaching for 26 years. Mr.Jensen teaches eighth-grade American History and Early World History. When asked what advice Mr. Jensen would give to new teachers, he said, “ My biggest piece of advice for any new or young teacher would be trying to find the right balance between controlling their classroom and building relationships with their students." Over the years, Mr.Jensen has learned how important it is to teach students to have a growth mindset. He believes that middle schoolers need to understand that this growing progress takes time and hard work. Mr. Jensen's favorite part of teaching is seeing former students use that mindset to become successful adults. Overall, Mr. Jensen's experience shows how much a teacher can really influence students’ lives.
