For over a decade, West Shore ESD has honored individuals for their work through the Make a Difference Award initiative. This year, Hart High School had four award recipients.
Seniors Addison Hain and Payton Lindgren were nominated in the peer support category. Addison was nominated by sophomore Dayshanay Hollings who said Addison provides constant encouragement with academics and athletics for everyone around her. Payton was nominated by Rey Garza Perez, Luis Oliveros, and Angel Perea-Hernandez for her outstanding academic support as a Pirate Link this year.
Mr. Chickering and Mr. Saari were nominated educators; senior Gaige Gallop nominated Mr. Chickering because of his positive attitude, willingness to help, and his ability to make learning fun, while freshman Nevaeh Spinner nominated Mr. Saari, noting that she appreciates that he genuinely cares about his students and is passionate about their learning.
